Until May 3 (the deadline to fill your survey on BackerKit) we decided to present to you the important information that contains an action card.
A little reminder: There are 2 types of card in Malkyrs, the champion card, and the action cards. There is only one champion card per deck. It represents the champion you play. You can integrate up to 10 action cards in your deck, each card represents a technique you will use to attack, defend or boost your abilities.
Now, let's focus on the information given by an action card:
1. Card nature
These symbols represent the deep nature of the card. Is it an attack? A defense? What caracteristic will be used by this card?
In this example, the 2 symbols have a sword, so it will be an attack. The 1st symbol has a flame, thus it will use the champion's intelligence caracteristic. You can see a clock behind the sword of the 2nd symbol, which means there will also be timer-related damages on your turn.
2. Title
It's just the name of the technique you're about to use.
3. Uses and cost
This is a very important part of the card. The figure corresponds to the maximum number of uses during a game. All around, we can see white dots. This is the cost of the card in action points. Indeed, in game, you will be limited by the number of action points you have to play a card.
The "Növe strom", therefore has 2 uses during a game and each of these uses will cost 4 action points.
4. Illustration
We choose to let the illustration go full art on our cards. Although all the cards can be played with all the champions, the illustration gives a good clue to know for which champion this card was designed.
5. Illustrator
All our illustrators are credited here. If you like a card illustration, do not hesitate to look for the other illustrations from the same artist on our cards. With an experienced eye, we can discern the style of each artist...
6. Expansion and rarity gem
Here we find the symbol of the expansion set of the card and its gem of rarity:
White gem = common card
Blue gem = rare card
Golden gem = legendary card
Our example is a card belonging to the expansion set "Journey to Enardem", represented by the Enardem tree. It is also a legendary card.
7. Card number
You find here the code of the expansion set and the card number in this set. This card is the 182nd card out of the 262 cards in the set.
Feel free to leave in the comments the various questions you may have on the cards!

This is the last part of our Kickstarter news featuring illustrators working with us! This time, they are three and just as talented as everyone we have presented! We strongly advise you to see the rest of their work on their ArtStation.
So this is the end of these updates about our illustrators! We have worked with many other talented artists who have not been presented here. If you like a card illustration, we invite you to look at the bottom of the card to find out who the creator is.
The Damned

After our update about the Arenas, here is, as we promised, some information about the Damned 5 that live in them!
The damned are incredibly powerful creatures. Narkalor, the goddess of the Arenas, has recognized their value for a long time but did not want to give them their freedom. Indeed, these beings have the ability to reverse the order of the world if they wish to. She gave them a place of rest in each Arena, considering them as the centerpieces of her collection. And who knows? You could meet one of them on your Journey to Enardem…
In the Byvolga forest Arena, lands Heneld. He is a master of metamorphosis and is part of the same race as the Onadrils. During his lifetime, he has tried to push the limits of the art of metamorphosis and has even acquired the ability to morph creatures around him. But the more he used his talent, the more his mental health deteriorated. He attempted an over-ambitious transformation and succumbed to it. Narkalor took this opportunity to take him to his Arena. He has been wandering around in Byvolga ever since but never recovered his mental health.
The only representation that can be found of the Damned of the desert arena of Muldrak is the statue imitation overhanging its temple. Nobody has really seen him but there are rumors, swiftblades speak of a legend of their people they call The Red Hunter. The swiftblades and the others of this species are born from a source of pure water. Unlike them, this one would have been born in the middle of a battlefield, in a source stained by the blood. His thirst for this red liquid has no limit and his ability to spot his prey are extraordinary (especially in deserts). It is advisable not to stay too close to his temple if one does not wish to be another of his victims.
On the capricious coast of Avolys is Seveth den. He is one of the first 3 Nadrs (the glovedils race) created. It is a huge primeval dragon whose appearance can impress. However, he is not hostile! Despite a dark and tragic end outside the Arenas, he is in peace. He likes the storms of Avolys, shares his wisdom and guides the champions who seek advice.
The most powerful creature on the island is undoubtedly in the plains of Unadr. Theosne is huge energy golem with a similar appearance to the Symbiosis (the race of the daeris). But he is actually an Iffrit, like the nilvinhs! While the nilvinhs are descendants from a fire's mastermind, Theosne has a greater affinity with terrestrial energies. Still asleep, this colossus makes all the plains of Unadr tremble in spite of himself and keeps certain plots of land in levitation.
Our last Damned is in the mountains of Grongërik and his name is Fehërin. This is the very first angel that have been created by the Malkyr Enarion (the creator god of humans). He gave his name to the main residence of the angels, a place protected by formidable guardians: the Guardians of Fehërin. Like all angels, Fehërin is a follower of justice and order. That's why Narkalor allowed him to leave when he proved his abilities to her. But Enarion ordered him to return immediately to ensure that the most dangerous prisoners of the island did not leave. He likes challenges and has a passion for testing the champions he meets.
So much for the Damned who populate the Arenas! On what topic of lore would you like to know more next time ?
Our Artists - Part 4

This week, we come back for the fourth time to present our artists, and today DrawDedication and Xavier Leroux are the ones highlighted. They work with us since 2017, and we love their way to draw characters and play with the light!
2 months after the end of our Kickstarter campaign, we already have made a lot of progress in the project. It is time to present it :)
About the Kickstarter Rewards
We chose a new booster prototype which is more secure than our current version:
The pre-cut part will seal the booster properly and a metalized foliage will be slipped inside to prevent the possibility of reading cards through the cardboard.
Furthermore, we already started the production of the Lyceran and the Nilvinh miniatures! The first of a long serie…
For those who want more information about the miniatures, we made an article about it during the campaign:
In terms of in-game features, we also finished some things earlier than we thought. We were able to add the ranked mode we planned for April recently!
The ranked mode allows you to defeat other players to collect glory points, then your number of glory points will determine your ranking!
Unlike in the “Quickplay” mode, the outcome of ranked matches is determined by 2 victories from 1 of the 2 champions. Between each game, you can change up to 3 cards from your side deck.
Now that we have finished, we have tackled the beginning of the single-player campaign, which is full of surprises!
That’s all for this update, we will keep you informed about the production of the Artbook and other Kickstarter rewards in another update!
